Phoenician Treasure Necklace

225.00

Phoenician letters cover the front of this hollow sterling silver bead, which is set into a sterling silver wire frame. The reverse is 24k gold applied using the ancient Korean technique of Keum Boo. The gold surface is polished to a satin finish which gives it an aged appearance – as if the entire piece was unearthed from an ancient site.

Hand fabricated using sterling silver PMC (Precious Metal Clay), the bead is made in two parts and assembled into one hollow bead prior to being fired in a small jewelry kiln at 1650°F for two hours.  The frame is made using square sterling wire, with small wire prongs soldered and inserted into the bead to hold it in place.  The bail is also hand made from sterling PMC.

The pendant measures approx. 1-1/5" square, and hangs from an 18" oxidized sterling silver chain with lobster clasp.
